Please note:

  • All hitch drivers must be accompanied by a capable driver.
  • No whips allowed in the show ring during line classes.
  • Classes start at 10 am sharp.
  • All livestock must meet health standards; exhibitors must have $1,000,000 liability insurance.
  • Absolutely no alcohol permitted.

Classes: 1 – Clydesdale | 2 – Belgian | 3 – Percheron | 4 – Commercial

Prizes, Sections 1 & 2: 1st – $60 | 2nd – $55 | 3rd – $45 | 4th – $40 | 5th – $35 | 6th – $35

  • Section 1: Brood mare, foal by her side
  • Section 2: Spring Foal

Prizes, Sections 3–5: 1st – $50 | 2nd – $45 | 3rd – $40 | 4th – $35 | 5th – $30 | 6th – $30

  • Section 3: Yr. old, filly or gelding
  • Section 4: Two-year-old, filly or gelding
  • Section 5: 3 years old or over

Prizes, Section 6: 1st – $90 | 2nd – $80 | 3rd – $70 | 4th – $60 | $50 for remaining entries

  • Section 6: Span attached to wagon

Specials

  • Class 5: Best Horse on the Grounds (1 entry per exhibitor), $60. Grand Champion: trophy donated by the Bertram Family in memory of Reg Bertram, Past President of the Society. Reserve Grand Champion: $40. Rosettes for each donated by Flos Ag. Society.
  • Class 6: Junior Showmanship on Halter (exhibitor 18 and under). Prize: 1st – $50 (sponsored by the Bertram Family in memory of Reg Bertram); $40, $35, $30, $25 for remaining entries.
  • Class 7: Unicorn Hitch, open to all breeds. Prize: 1st – $75 | 2nd – $65 | 3rd – $55 | 4th – $45
  • Class 8: 4-Horse Hitch, open to all breeds. Ontario Four Horse Hitch Classic Series — hitched to a suitable vehicle and driven by one person; $1,750 prize money split between exhibitors. Rules of the Ontario Four Horse Series apply.
  • Class 9: Single Hitch/Team, open to all breeds. Prize: 1st – $50 | 2nd – $45 | 3rd – $35 | $25 for remaining entries.
    • Roger Giffen Memorial Award – Best Team on the Grounds (re: Class 9). Prize: trophy, plus $50. Note: if more than 5 teams per breed, teams split into light and heavy.
  • Class 10: Draft Horse Under Saddle. Prize: 1st – $40 | 2nd – $30 | 3rd – $25 | $20 for remaining entries. Open to all breeds; English or Western tack permitted; walk, trot & canter.

General Rules and Regulation

Each exhibitor, upon arriving on the grounds, must apply to the Committee in charge, who will inform the exhibitor where the animals or articles are to be placed.

Judging Standards

Our local Committee members do not judge at our Fair. The Society hires and pays for qualified and impartial judges.
