How to exhibit: same process as Domestic Science; entry forms may be sent to the Secretary by Monday, October 5, 2026 for tags ready on arrival.

Pick-up rules: same as Domestic Science (4:30 pm Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026).

All entries must be in and ready to be judged by 8:30 pm Wednesday evening, October 7, 2026.

General Handcraft Rules

• Exhibits must be the sole work of the exhibitor unless otherwise stated.
• All work must be new.
• Intended for individuals who engage in their craft as a pastime or hobby.
• Judges may disqualify soiled, defective, incomplete, or worn entries, or those previously exhibited at the Elmvale Fall Fair.
• Signature labels must be covered.
• Use safety pins only, NO straight pins.
• Include name of quilt pattern/method and designer if known (including kits, e.g. Mary Maxim) — acknowledge designers’ efforts and, if you like, the inspiration for making your quilt.
• Fabric and/or yarn samples must be included with all entries — failure to attach sufficient samples results in disqualification.
• Wreaths and artwork must be equipped for hanging unless specified otherwise.
• Fabric casings/sleeves (may be temporary) must be attached to all quilts and wall hangings for display.

All winning entries in Hand and Domestic Machine Quilting categories qualify to advance to District (October) and possibly Provincial (February) competitions if criteria are met. Indicate on your entry tag if you do NOT wish your entry to advance.

Our local committee members do not judge at our Fair. The Society hires and pays for qualified and impartial judges. Chairpersons and committee members are volunteers who ensure the judge sees all entries, fill in paperwork, attach ribbons/stickers, and display entries for visitors.
