Pick-up rules: All Hall exhibits left until 4:30 pm Saturday, October 10, 2026. At 4 pm the adult home craft area closes to spectators for volunteer prep. At 4:30 pm, only exhibitors/designates permitted in the Hall. Proof of ownership may be required.

A. Jeff’s Junk – Special for “Men Only” 8-inch whacky cake, iced or frosted, displayed attractively. (Whacky cake, aka depression/war cake — made when eggs, butter, sugar and milk were scarce or costly.) Prizes: 1st – $50 | 2nd – $30 | 3rd – $20

F. Turnview Farms Honey, Orr Lake – Special Bees Knees Bars (recipe below), 3, 2-inch square bars. Prizes: 1st – $25 | 2nd – $15 | 3rd – $10, plus small gift for winners
Bees Knees Bars Recipe 1 cup butter, softened; ¾ cup quick-cooking oatmeal; 2 tbsp honey; pinch of salt; ½ tsp almond extract; ½ cup butterscotch chips; ¾ cup all-purpose flour; ¼ cup slivered almonds. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 8-inch pan with parchment paper. Beat butter, honey and almond flavouring until smooth. Blend in flour, oats and salt; stir in chips; press dough into pan. Sprinkle almonds overtop and pat into dough. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden; cool before cutting.
G. Marta Harradine-Duivenvoorden – Special (In Honour of Her Mother, Greta Harradine) Pistachio Cake, 2-layer, 8–9″ round, iced/frosted, attractively displayed. Recipe of choice; include a copy of the recipe. Prizes: 1st – $50 | 2nd – $30 | 3rd – $20

- Jars must not be sealed with wax.
- Must use “New” seals & rings.
- Any jar with a rusty lid is automatically disqualified.
- Must be shown in jars with 2-piece metal sealing lids, except classes #55 & 56.
- All jars entered will be opened for judging.
- No fancy material or labels unless specified.
- All entries may be in 500 ml or smaller jars, except those noted in bold, which must be 500 ml containers.
- Incorrect size jars will not be judged.

Our local committee members do not judge at our Fair. The Society hires and pays for qualified and impartial judges. Chairpersons and committee members are volunteers who ensure the judge sees all entries, fill in paperwork, attach ribbons/stickers, and display entries for visitors.
