HOW TO EXHIBIT AT THE FAIR

  • Obtain a prize book & entry form. Carefully read the Rules & Regulations. Find the class and sections of interest to you, in the Prize Book.
  • Complete your entry form & entry tag completely, listing the items to correspond with the prize list. Securely attach an entry tag to each item. The Exhibitor’s number, once assigned to you, is yours indefinitely. New Exhibitors can obtain their number prior to the Fair OR when you bring your exhibits.
  • Send the completed form to the Secretary of the Fair before Oct 6th or bring it with you when you bring your exhibits to the Arena on Wed. Oct 8th between 3:30 & 8:30 pm.

PICK-UP RULES: All exhibits in the Hall to be left until 4:30 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025. At 4 pm the adult home craft area will be closed to spectators as volunteers prepare articles/exhibits for pick-up. At 4:30 pm, ONLY exhibitors and/or their designates will be permitted into the Hall to gather entries. Proof of ownership may be required. You MAY send your entry form to the Secretary by Monday, October 6, 2025 and your tags will be ready when you arrive with your exhibits on Wednesday.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE IN AND READY TO BE JUDGED BY 8:30 PM WEDNESDAY EVENING, OCTOBER 8, 2025.

GENERAL HANDCRAFT RULES:

  • Exhibits must be the SOLE work of the exhibitor unless otherwise stated
  • All work must be new.
  • Exhibiting of articles in our Fair is intended for individuals who engage in their craft as a pastime or hobby.
  • In order to keep a high standard at our Fair, judges have been authorized to DISQUALIFY all soiled, defective, incomplete, or worn entries; or those previously exhibited at the Elmvale Fall Fair. We expect honesty.
  • Signature labels must be covered.
  • Use safety pins only, NO STRAIGHT PINS.
  • Include name of quilt pattern (method), and designer, if known. Please acknowledge designers and source of patterns, (e.g. Pinterest and this includes knitted, crocheted & counted cross-stitch items if purchased from a kit, ie-Mary Maxim). Please recognize their efforts. You are invited to include your inspiration (story behind, or reason) for making your quilt.
  • Fabric and/or yarn samples are to be included with all entries. Failure to attach sufficient samples will result in disqualification.
  • Wreaths and Artwork must be equipped for hanging unless specified otherwise.
  • Fabric casings/sleeves (may be temporary) must be attached to all Quilts and Wall Hangings, so that they may be hung for display.

O.A.A.S. HAND QUILTED QUILT & O.A.A.S. MACHINE QUILTED QUILT COMPETITIONS:

All winning entries in the Hand and Domestic Machine Quilting categories qualify to advance to District (October) and possibly Provincial (February) level competitions if all criteria are met. Please indicate on your entry tag if you DO NOT wish your entry to advance.

**Reminder: fabric and/or yarn swatches are to be included with all entries. SAMPLES TO BE ATTACHED – SA. Failure to attach sufficient samples will result in dis-qualification. Fabric Casings/sleeves must be attached to all quilts and wall hangings. Wreaths And artwork must be equipped for hanging unless specified otherwise. Use Safety pins only, no straight pins. General Rules and Regulation

Each exhibitor, upon arriving on the grounds, must apply to the Committee in charge, who will inform the exhibitor where the animals or articles are to be placed.

Judging Standards

Our local Committee members do not judge at our Fair. The Society hires and pays for qualified and impartial judges.
